Ivory Coast's Ouattara calls for UN intervention (AP)

Ivory Coast's internationally recognised president Alassane Ouattara (R) meets with new general of the United Nations peacekeeping forces Berena Gnakoude (L) at the Golf Hotel in Abidjan. The UN peacekeeping mission in the Ivory Coast raised alarm Tuesday about the use of heavy weapons, including machine guns and mortars, against civilians in a bloody post-election dispute.(AFP)AP - Ivory Coast's internationally recognized president is calling for the United Nations to authorize the use of "legitimate force" to protect civilians after a mortar attack last week killed at least 25 people.
